This was my last day in Krakow and I wanted to "absorb" all the beauty, greatness and calmness of this old city.
I desided to walk by the park Plants - it's an amazing park around the whole old city (which is called "Stare Miasto"). There were city walls with a water ditch in the old days. But at the beginning of XIX century the walls were destroyed by the Austrian military authority. They left untouched only Barbakan and a small fragment of walls with the main tower. The trip starts near my apartment in the eastern part of Plants, goes across Krakow Miniature Theatre, Saint Krzyza Сhurch, Barbakan, Jagielonskiy University and ends at Wawel Royal Castle. I enjoyed Plants very much. I wish we had something like that in my city. I will definitely return to Krakow some day, and advise you to do the same :)

Been to Kracow twice, once on an assignement, next with my mates for an oval weekend in September of 2007. Giant success.
Why is October a good month for visiting Kracow?

I want to visit Krakow, not least because of its historical significance and cultural importance in Poland. Your guide is super! PJD

Nice track, nice place to visit!
Have been there two times, definitely recommend anyone visiting Poland to go to Krakow. I think the best season for visiting is autumn, probably October or so. The spirit of old town with its great old churches is unforgettable.
